sorry for the delays
Hi all. I have been super busy working as an RN the last several months. I took sometime to go to Sturbridge, MA and Mystic,CT to take some stitching time at 2 retreats that my friend Sue puts together. if you are looking for a great retreat and want to make new friends I highly recommend Stitcher's Hideaway. you can go to www.Stitchershideaway.com and see what she is up to. thanks for the understanding of a long pause. I pulled the Mardi gras pattern out and will attempt to work on it next month. due to 2 laptops melting down....mine and my lady that puts the charts together so you can read it. we are hoping to get hers up and running next month. hope you are all well! thank you again for your patience. Meeting Donny and Marie
Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas,NV
I was very fortunate to get a chance to see Donny and Marie's show while in Vegas. I was thrilled to have had the chance to do a meet and greet as well. I designed 2 quilts for them. Donny's was done in rainbow colors and called Joseph's Technicolored Dream Coat to repesent the 5 yrs he was on Broadway doing that show. Marie's was done in pinks, yellows, oranges and with flowers in each block to represent her first song she recorded "Paper Roses". Both of them are fantastic people to meet and chat with. (I had a huge crush on Donny when I was 8, ah puppy love.....) it was an honor to have met them and to present them something I made for them. It's a night I will never forget.
Publick House Mini Quilt
This is The Publick House Mini Quilt I designed for The Stitcher's Hideaway for my good friend Sue. It was inspired by my last visit to Old Sturbridge Village. There were 2 teenagers dying wool that day. I took a picture of the wool they had and used the colors and things I found around there to design the mini quilt. I have the larger one to stitch up that is 25 squares. I am hoping to do that this summer.
Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler!
Think beads, parades, parties, The French Quarter and Bourbon Street. This project has you placing beads around a mask to represent the beads that they throw at the parades. Lots of Kreinik Mardi Gras braid and various other Krienik threads, DMC greens, golds, purples are used in this project. It is done on Black Opal 18 ct Mono Canvas . 29 squares to stitch up! As they say in New Orleans "Laissez les bon temps rouler!" (Let the good times roll!)

New quilt block coming soon!
Hi everyone! I am currently working on a new quilt block. the theme on this one is Mardi Gras. the official title is "Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler!"...Let the good times roll!. But since I can't say it properly it has come down to nicknaming it the Mardi Gras Quilt Square. Currently it is going to be the traditional colors of green, purple and gold. The charm is a mask in bronze tone. I am hoping to finish it in the next 2 weeks. Then I will post the picture for all to see. Stay tuned!
